SC/AMB// 05
6 April 2005 Dear Colleagues, Ambulance Practitioner Profiles At an emergency meeting held on 5 April 2005 UNISON’s National Ambulance Committee issued the following statement: "The absence of a commitment from the employers side to properly fund Agenda for Change is evidenced by their failure to sanction the release of the finalised Ambulance Practitioner National Profiles (produced by the profile group of the joint national Job Evaluation Working Party) on the grounds of cost. "Unless these are released for application by Friday 15 April 2005 the UNISON National Ambulance Sector Committee will consult Ambulance members on withdrawing from future participation in Agenda for Change processes." At today’s meeting UNISON’s National Health Service Group Executive endorsed the concept of a freeze on further AfC participation in respect of Ambulance practitioners until the profiles are released. Continued efforts will also be made to resolve the matter through the Joint Executive of the NHS Staffs Council. UNISON Health branches will be contacted shortly with details of the consultation process. Please feel free to circulate this letter to branches and regional officers. Yours sincerely, Samuel Oestreicher Sam Oestreicher National Officer, Health Group, Secretary to National Ambulance Sector Committee |
